April President's Message
Dear Fellow Artists,
It’s lovely that Spring is here and the weather inches toward drying out in fits and starts. We hung at the San Leandro Main Library on Monday morning. Thanks to Cricket Gallegos, Marcia O’Kane, Barbara Andreasen, and Kathy and John Ries, who stayed to help hang the beautiful show. I love how we work together to make everyone shine.
Thanks to Ginny Milo for getting a nice write up about our show at the San Leandro Senior Center into the San Leandro Times! Our next show there will be in July and August. I recently met Susan Criswall who organizes the schedules at the Senior Center and she mentioned how much they liked having our artwork hanging there.
The board met last week and we are making progress in coming up with an outline of sponsorship opportunities and benefits to potential sponsors to help us fundraise for the Dorothy Cunningham Grant and Association needs. We will be displaying signs at future meetings recognizing current sponsors. The board has also received access to the website-in-progress. It should be live in April. I will be looking for members to help maintain it. Robert West and I will train the volunteers. Anyone want to write a blog about art? Let me know!
The San Leandro Cherry Festival is June 1st this year. It was great fun last year and quite a hit with the kids. We’ll be looking for volunteers to staff it throughout the day in short shifts. Volunteers will get access to nearby parking.
I’m making a change to the newsletter. The Calendar will now show the whole year or what remains. Some things may be tentative but will help you see what shows and events are upcoming.
